I think I will take a long break and post the rest of the photos from Lithuania later when I feel like it. Maybe I still be posting them ten years from now. I haven't even downloaded any of the photos from Sola yet, not that I took many at all. *sigh* It feel like I am done taking photos for a long time. I really hate this. I don't really want to do anything. I don't feel like cross stitching, or taking pictures or sewing. I guess that is okay as there wont be much time to do any of that anyways for a while. It kind of seems like everything is out of sorts but maybe that is just because I am. Maybe once all this county fair preparation gets done then we can kind of get back to normal again... I wonder what it will be like to sleep through an entire night...... hmmm.

But we can look at the happy things. Friday, I'll have the whole house to myself to clean. I will have all of Fair week to can peaches too since I don't have to be there. This summer has been mercifully cool and not too humid either. I actually have some idea of what will happen school-wise next year. And my quilt top is almost done and it isn't too crooked..... : )

Well Worn Hands

Song and Dance Festival

If I remember correctly this was on July 4th.... if not, then it was on the 5th... This video isn't really all the great, but at least it has some of it. It was even better in real life. There were over 1000 dancers from all over the world participating. I think we were there for over 2 hours. Even though all the songs were in Lithuanian, it was fun to try to guess what the song was about.

Sadly, I somehow deleted all the photos I took during this. : ( And they were fairly good photos too. : (

Oh, and wewere in a stadium, so when someone started the wave, it went all the way around at least seven times.

Oh, and after it was over, all the audience came down from the bleachers and started dancing to the music that they kept playing and they were dancing for at least an hour. : )

Oh. (heh. I need to stop adding stuff) There were fireworks at the end and one the peices of firework fell on my head. :-/ It didn't burn me, as it had already burnt out, but kind of felt a little odd to be hit in the head. I didn't see how big of a peice it was, because it fell under the bleachers and it was too dark to see.

I can't help but feel a little amused by this photo. The girl is clearly upset. Hmmm. I wonder what he said to her....

When I looked up from getting this photo, I couldn't see Mom or Sarah anywhere. When I finally caught up to Sarah again, she yelled at me not to get lost again. It was worth getting lost to take this photo. The little girl was so cute. I wonder where her parents were as she was walking all alone. She couldn't have been older than five years old.

I'm getting everything out of order, but it doesn't really matter, I guess. This was taken on the 6th of July during the parade for the final day of the song and dance festival. It took three hours for the parade to be completed. Anyways, this is one of my favorite photos.

This was when the castle was "burning".

Most of the photos didn't turn out as it was so dark, so we went back our last day there and got to go inside the castle.

Churches of Vilnius: Russian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas

This Church was very beautiful. We walked past it almost every day we were in Vilnius.

Almost every time we passed it, Sarah would lean over to me and say, "Oh! Have we been in that Church before?"

"Yes, Sarah. Remember. That is the church that wouldn't let us take pictures in."

And she would say, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, Sarah. I am sure. Because I remember sitting on that bench right there because the insense aroma was so strong in there."

She would shrug. "Oh. Okay."

After a while I started answering the question before she asked it.

This church was defaced by the Soviets and is in the process of being restored.
